A ‘Morlock’ Supplement

My mind wants to shout so many angry thoughts at the dystopian madness the TV is dumping into my living room…the organized obscene filth of those who know not how to think about the verity of history or would void it for their anarchical pursuits…

Can a democracy not boldly modify its noble course through history as exterminators might rid a house of its destructive vermin? We are attacked from within by the dwellers of the ‘Swamp’ and their minions with seeming impunity. We know who they are. They rob us blind. Can we not mobilize our patriots to rid our country of this scourge?

A ‘Pandemic’! Murder, riots, looting in our cities! When does ‘enough’ come? Can so much ‘hatred’ for a hard-working president true to the cause of our country, perhaps, not so politically eloquent, cause a country to crumble?

Just words muttered in anxious, helpless wonder!

How Can We?

How can we breed patriots

When we don’t teach our history?

From ‘Pilgrim Rock’ through

The great presidents of our time?

Valley Forge, the wars we’ve fought

For a country now harassed with hate?

How can we deplore so easily

With easy disdain and anger?

How can we be so blind of eye

As not to see the great rupture

In our land of milk and honey?

How can we not with haste defeat

This pestilence that so infects

Our hearts, our minds, our souls?

How can we be so hardened of heart

As not to feel compassion and joy?

How can we not feel pride in a

Nation that has so much to give?

How can we not stem the bigotry

That runs rancid in our streets?

How can we turn a Democracy

Into a totalitarian state of chaos?

What feeds this disease that now

Plagues our halls of government?

Please, tell me how can we revive

A country rich in history and glory?

How can we breed patriots

When we don’t teach our history?
